![]() ![]() Allows the user to connect straight to the database and pull data instead of exporting to a csv from a SQL IDE and uploading it to Python. Two ways to connect to SQL Server using Windows/Okta Authentication from a Mac: Wanting to make it easier for others, I made this guide with all the parts in one spot. However, it became time consuming to find all the parts and pieces to make it work beyond the generic guides. I wanted to use Python to omit exporting and uploading csv files, and an IDE to visually see schema and table structures within a database. The two connections I wanted to make were from Python to Sql Server as well as an IDE to Sql Server. Being a Mac user myself, it especially became difficult trying to connect to Microsoft Sql Server while using Windows and OKTA Authentication. Sometimes those connections can be a bit tricky to set up. ![]() Connecting to data is one of the first tasks Data Scientists need to do to begin exploring data and eventually building a model. ![]()
